What involvement do parents have?

Previous experience has shown that a WYD pilgrimage can have a deep and sometimes life changing experience on the Pilgrim. Some parents have reported difficulties in being able to help their child process their feelings and thoughts on return. CYM and local Parishes will provide debrief opportunities on return from WYD, but it is important parents prepare themselves as well.
There will be a Family Day in February that you should come to, where you will have the opportunity to meet other families, find out what has been happening and ask any questions you may have or hear from past WYD parents. There will also be an opportunity for parent debrief following WYD. Make sure you read anything that comes from CYM, and talk to your child about their pilgrimage (remember their pilgrimage starts NOW, not when they leave for Europe).
